About this Role

This role cultivates existing client relationships and develops new ones to drive revenue, increase product entrenchment, improve overall satisfaction and secure client references.  It requires the ability to independently and proactively develop rapport with executives, managers and power user contacts across our client base, while internally working with a candid team of sales and IT professionals who are passionate about their careers and driven to succeed.  Being an effective team member at a small company like Black Mountain requires multi-tasking and the ability to own, prioritize and track a large number of tasks and responsibilities, without losing focus or becoming overwhelmed.

Required Experience

  • 10+ years experience managing a book of existing clients as an Account Manager, Relationship Manager, or similar role, with a verifiable and reference-able track record of success
  • Demonstrated experience upselling and cross-selling new business solutions to an existing book of clients
  • Experience as a senior escalation point for client challenges, managing all issues and concerns to resolution
  • Financial industry experience, specifically with Fixed Income, Equity, FX or Loan asset classes
  • Ability to learn, personally use, and market financial technology product solutions
  • Professional experience at small or medium sized companies, not only large institutions
  • Based in London with travel to Dublin, Madrid, Copenhagen, New York and other client locations as needed
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree from an accredited institution

Required Characteristics

  • Must be accountable, have a strong work ethic, a sense of urgency and ownership, and be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Must have the maturity and perspective to focus on the high priorities (growing our revenue and our footprint at clients) while also executing necessary account management activities (e.g. adding sales & meeting notes, managing revenue status, tracking all client issues to resolution, providing transparency to management, etc.)
  • Confidence to engage C-level client contacts with both business and technical backgrounds, and the humility to engage client contacts at any level to cultivate and build relationships across the client organization
  • Coachable – must always be willing to learn, and have the right combination of patience and tenacity
