Happy Holidays from Black Mountain!

With the holiday season is in full swing, the Black Mountain team has been spreading holiday cheer throughout their communities.

For the fourth year in a row, our San Diego team was excited to partner with the Monarch School whose mission is to educate students impacted by homelessness and give them the necessary skills for personal success. This year the Black Mountain team took part in a couple special holiday events:

Annual Thanksgiving Dinner — For this special dinner for Monarch students and their families, the gym is transformed into a restaurant style seating area and the students and their families are served just as if they were in a restaurant. Black Mountain and its employees donated 600 dinner rolls, 35 bottles of whipped cream, 20 gallons of milk and 50 bottles of hot sauce for this special event.

Adopt a Class Room Holiday Gift Drive — The Black Mountain team adopted a 12th grade class with 23 students and purchased gifts from their wish lists. The team also donated Walmart gift cards for the families to use while the school is closed over the holiday, and clothes for the school’s onsite store.

Our New York team supported New York Cares again this year by donating 30 gifts (including video games, clothing, Lego sets, dolls, clothing and more) to children ages 6-17 for the Winter Wishes program. The team also took part in the annual Coat Drive, donating 12 coats.

For Winter Wishes, New York Cares partners with hundreds of community partners, including homeless shelters and other deserving nonprofit organizations, to provide holiday gifts for disadvantaged children, teens, and seniors, many of whom would not otherwise receive gifts during the holidays.

In London, the Black Mountain team took part in Barnado’s Urban Summit. This event, benefiting the children’s charity, challenges participants to climb up one of London’s most iconic buildings, The Leadenhall Building, also known as ‘The Cheesegrater’. In addition to their physical efforts, the team raised a total of £1,295 for the charity!

The London team also did some fundraising for Crisis, the national charity for homeless people, raising £660 that will reserve tables for 20 homeless people on Christmas night, and get gifts for homeless people and their pets.

We’re happy to support such great charitable causes and help put smiles on a few faces around the holidays. Wishing you a joyous holiday season and a prosperous New Year!
